Caldicot based three-piece The Bug Club have been working away since 2016 honing their stripped-back garage-pop. The EP, released as a tongue-in-cheek response to pandemic-era isolation and lockdown fatigue, earned early championing from BBC 6 Music's Marc Riley, establishing the band's reputation for high-energy musicianship, clever humor, and compact, punchy songwriting. Comparisons are drawn to sharp, melodic DIY guitar bands and the nimble, narrative-driven quirkiness of groups like The Kinks and Jonathan Richman.
