60ft Dolls were a rock trio from Newport, South Wales, in the style of punk / pub garage rock / power pop with a dash of mod. Their songs and approach embodied elements of The Jam and Dr. Feelgood, classic UK stripped-down guitar rock. Mike Cole and Richard Parfitt were originally introduced to each other in 1992 by Donna Matthews (later of Elastica), who was dating Cole at the time while also working at a pizza restaurant with Parfitt. The group released two albums in the mid-nineties and supported the Sex Pistols at that group's comeback gig in Finsbury Park in 1996 before splitting in 1998.

Casanova was the band's third album and the first to bring real success. First released in 1996 it explored and dissected a world of casual affairs, loose morals and a thousand anxieties in between. From the NME: "’Casanova’ fairly teems with sex, with suppressed desires.. with ample evidence of what dicks men can be." Mojo described it as a "glorious.. sumptuous paean to life, love and longing." Select said "Only a barren heart could resist it.. Sensible people simply swooned." Singles Something For The Weekend, Becoming More Like Alfie and The Frog Princess became chart hits and airplay staples while an alternate version of Songs Of Love became the theme music for legendary Channel 4 sitcom Father Ted.

The CD release consists of 2 discs: the original remastered album, with a second CD of B-sides, demos and alternate versions lovingly curated by Neil Hannon, much of which has never been heard before. The CD comes with a booklet of photos, credits and extensive liner notes written by Neil covering the context and inspiration behind the album and its songs.

2x12" LP Re-issue Of Indie Rock LP - Following a successful reissue for Record Store Day, on red vinyl, we present the black vinyl edition of this classic album. Originally released in 1996, at the height of ‘Britpop’, the album reached no. 2 in the UK, and amassed 92 weeks on the charts and sold a million copies world-wide!

‘Moseley’ takes its name from an area in Birmingham, ‘Moseley Shoals’ is a tribute to Muscle Shoals, the legendary soul recording studios in Alabama. A low-key start to their career was boosted by two things – the endorsement of two of Britain’s biggest pop stars – Paul Weller and Noel Gallagher, and the exposure given to the first single, The Riverboat Song, by Chris Evans on his hit TV show ‘TFI Friday’.

The album was produced by Weller’s producer at the time – Brendan Lynch, giving it a strong, organic R&B feel (influenced by the Small Faces and Weller’s solo recordings) with a pronounced 60s flourish, mixing in traces of Beatles and Stones, as well as elements of prog-rock and psychedelia, adding an even more eclectic flavour to their sound.

By the time Ocean Colour Scene released their debut album in 1992, they were already considered has-beens. The band had formed during the height of Madchester, but they never released their first album until the scene was already dead, which left them without a following. But between their debut and their second album, 1996's Moseley Shoals, a strange thing happened -- the band was taken under the wings of two of Britain's biggest pop stars, Paul Weller and Noel Gallagher.

The band suddenly catapulted back into the spotlight because of its superstar connections, but the music actually deserved the attention. Ocean Colour Scene had spent the time between their two albums improving their sound. On Moseley Shoals, they are looser, funkier, and have a strong, organic R&B vibe that was inherited from the Small Faces and Weller's solo recordings. They sprinkle Beatlesque and Stonesy flourishes throughout the album, as well as the odd prog rock flair, adding an even more eclectic flavor to their traditionalist pop/rock. Ocean Colour Scene are still developing their songwriting skills -- the sound is more impressive than the songs throughout Moseley Shoals -- but their second album is an unexpectedly enjoyable record.(Global Groove)

Different Class (originally released October 30, 1995) is Pulp's most successful album, achieving multi-platinum sales and international acclaim, winning the 1996 Mercury Music Prize and debuting at number one on the UK Album Chart. It also produced four Top Ten singles, including ‘Common People’.

Four months prior to the release of the album, the band headlined the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury Festival on Saturday 24 June. The audio has been remastered/mastered by Geoff Pesche at Abbey Road, overseen by Jarvis Cocker and Mark Webber, and the discs are housed in a Digi-sleeve with 28-page booklet featuring extensive notes from new interviews with the band members, plus previously unseen images from photographers Rankin and Donald Milne (who took the photos for the original release) and the band’s own archives. Paul Weller AKA the Modfather has delivered a library's worth of quality music, style and sharp haircuts in his 30-year career that has made him somewhat of a national institution. Following the double whammies of The Jam and the Style Council, Weller truly established himself with his second solo outing, Wild Wood. This deluxe, digitally-remastered collector’s edition from the original master tapes, features the classic hit singles "Wild Wood", "Sunflower", "Hung Up" and "The Weaver", which allude to a plethora of classic influences, where songwriting really is an art in the vein of the pastoral folk/pop heroes such as; Nick Drake, Van Morrison and Crosby, Stills and Nash.

Wild Wood was Weller making a record for himself and no-one else sounding like an album that could have been made in the 70s. The whole project, personally overseen by Weller and producer Brendan Lynch, has a real live quality to it. They even left in a lot of the mistakes during recording, which makes this a one-off, built on the foundations of Weller’s acoustic guitar and huskily soulful timbre. Layered with organ, piano, flute and Moog synthesizer there is always space in the songs, interspersed by instrumentals. Whether singing about how life gets you down ("Wild Wood") or broken relationships, ("All The Pictures On The Wall"), there’s always counterbalancing hope as in the acoustic folk soul of "Country" ('I know a place not far from here/ Where life’s sweet perfume fills the air/ And if you want I’ll take you there').

The CD also includes no less than 28 bonus tracks, demos, b-sides, mixes, alternative versions, BBC tracks and unreleased songs from the period which stand-up and would be sought after by any self respecting songwriter today. Perhaps the only less successful track is Weller’s take on The Small Faces' "I’m Only Dreaming", but we see a gospel influence on the previously unreleased "Oh Happy Day" and even a fantastic demo version of Neil Young’s agit-pop, "Ohio". With an engaging storyteller such as Weller at the helm, who needs more?
