The Band's 1968 debut album, Music From Big Pink, is remixed and expanded for its 50th anniversary. Six bonus tracks from the sessions, including outtakes and alternate versions, fill out one of rock's great debut LPs.

The new remix was overseen by Bob Clearmountain from the original four-track analog masters; Bob Ludwig mastered the new mixes. The bonus tracks include one previously unreleased track, an a cappella version of "I Shall Be Released." The other extras – including the outtake "Yazoo Street Scandal" and an alternate take of "Tears of Rage" – have appeared on other reissues and box sets over the years.

Music From Big Pink was released in July 1968 and served as the Band's debut album, though they were no strangers to fans. By that time, they had already backed Ronnie Hawkins in the early '60s before moving on to Bob Dylan's backing band. They accompanied him during his historic 1966 U.K. tour and were also part of the fabled Basement Tapes which Dylan recorded in 1967.

“We had all of that gathering – the woodshedding and paying our dues, all of that dripping into the music,” the Band's chief songwriter and guitarist Robbie Robertson explains in the new set. “This didn’t sound like anything we had done with Ronnie Hawkins, what we had done as Levon and the Hawks, or what we played on the Dylan tour. This was a music that – hopefully – lived in a time and space that you couldn’t quite put your finger on.” (Ultimate Classic Rock)

MOSQUERA CELTIC BAND is a folk, Celtic, and pop band led by Fernando Mosquera, a Galician-born piper from Toledo. Founded in 2010, Mosquera signed his first record deal just eight months after recording his debut album, "Peregrinatio" (2012), featuring a rich blend of Galician rhythms.
After creating his own production company, Mosquera released his second album, "Outlander," in 2015, which was voted Best European Folk Album by the Italian Radio Society in 2016. This album, focused on Irish music, features collaborations with 12 international artists.
In 2020, they released their most recent work, "Terra," focusing on American sounds. This album explores the development of early American folk, bluegrass, and hillbilly, drawing on the Celtic music of Ireland and Scotland. It features collaborations with 14 international artists. The Celtic Band's fresh style is based on Mosquera's own compositions, both instrumental and lyrical, in Spanish, Galician, English, and Gàidhlig (Scottish Gaelic). His goal is to open Celtic music to all audiences, creating a unique, personal, and independent vision.
Fernando Mosquera currently plays more than 60 different instruments. He is a certified author, composer, performer, and music producer. Since his second album, he has collaborated closely with Álvaro Mata, a renowned music producer with five Grammy Awards.

Dub music is a genre and production technique that emerged in Jamaica in the late 1960s and early 1970s, evolving from reggae and the wider ska and rocksteady traditions. It focuses heavily on instrumental remixes, emphasizing studio effects, echoes, and reverb. As a creative and experimental form of music, dub has had a profound influence on many other genres, including electronic music, hip hop, and dancehall.

The connection between dub music and cannabis/420 has deep cultural and historical roots, largely tied to the Jamaican music scene and Rastafari Movement—two major influences on the development of dub.

In Rastafarian belief, smoking was seen as a way of connecting to the divine, heightening the senses, and fostering a deep state of introspection and spirituality. Since many reggae musicians and producers, including key figures in the development of dub were influenced by or part of the Rastafarian faith, smoking cannabis became an integral part of the creative and cultural process surrounding dub music.

As such, dub music (with its expansive, trance-like rhythms and heavy use of studio effects like echoes, reverb, and delay) often reflects the psychedelic and spiritual experiences associated with cannabis use.

This album features the works of some of the key pioneers of the genre including the likes of King Tubby, Scientist, Dennis Bovell and Roots Radics.
