The Brilliant Corners - Heart On Your Sleeve A Decade In Pop 1983-1993 2013 320 😎

The Brilliant Corners were a British indie pop band from Bristol who recorded throughout the 1980s and into the early 1990s.

The group was formed in 1983, taking the name from the Thelonious Monk jazz album, Brilliant Corners. The line-up included David Woodward (vocals, guitar), Chris Galvin (bass guitar), Winston Forbes (lead guitar, percussion, backing vocals), Bob Morris (drums) and Dan Pacini (occasional trumpet and keyboards). A later addition was Phil Elvins on guitar. They split up after their last release in 1993.

Woodward and Galvin formed Experimental Pop Band in 1995, along with third member Corin Dingley.

Galvin died from cancer in 1998. *

  6. Well this is a coincidence, as I picked up 2 albums of theirs just a couple of days ago from Old Rocker, having never heard of them and from what I've listened to so far, they are a lost indie gem from the 80's. Recommended !!

  7. Judging by the number of downloads, not the comments, they must be a really good band, and one I'm completely unaware of. Thanks a million, Reb!

  9. Enjoy Peter, will have to check and see what else I have. The funny thing is it's been sitting in my to post folder, when I am cleaning and sorting my HD's I find things I forgot I had. So I move things into a to post folder on the laptop. Then I do whatever tag work is required, this wasn't even in CD1 & CD2, sorted that, then a few bits needed. But it a great over view of a n underrated band. They did 3 peel sessions between 84-87.
