Re Ups of Links Here on Vibes.

OK Someone asking for a re up of a Flac share, there is a post on the right called "Re Ups of Links Here on Vibes." Please take the time to read the thing before requesting a re up.

Well here is a copy of that text post on the right  and a final reminder, please don't ask me for Flac re-up's unless I know you or you add comments (or log into your google account and add comment that way) on a regular basis with your name, because it ain't gonna happen, sorry but that the way it goes. The bestfile links last for three months, long enough to collect it. Of late, all my Flac shares have been upload via Pixeldrain and the links there last even longer than Bestfiles, a minimum of six months, again long enough to be collected.

* So in the future if you request a re up of one of my Flac posts and don't log into your google account, comment regularly and add your name or I know you, then your request won't even be published as a comment. *

Anything in 320 I am more than happy to re-up, I don't keep everything I share in Flac as Flac, many are converted to 320, which is good enough for me. Mainly only keep Reggae and soul and a few odd bits of other genres.

The post about RE-UP's on Vibes on the right hand side.

*Hi, as I said on a post not long ago, sorry the answer will be no to a re up. Unless I know the person asking or they comment regularly on the site and add their name to their comments, then please ask for a new link. If you add an email address on the post then I will email you a new active link. We won't share your email address on the post. Or you can email me at the Vibes email address 4vibessite(at)proton just change (at) for @*

*My (Reb) posts I won't be renewing links, as I feel three months is long enough to collect an album*

*Andy will re up any link if you ask, most are still active anyway and on Concha's post's again ask her. Any post by leeds, at the moment he's not got computer access, so please don't ask*

  1. When it is a gift from you to us/me, I am happy to have 192, 256, 320 mp3 any day of the week. Flac is not always so much better. People who want flac (better even wavs, and better even sacd quality brought by the famous 5 Grand Stereo, in today's money $25.000) do they listen to the music? Can't they not better listen to Dire Straits - Love Over Gold?
I think if you listen to scratchy old reggae singles, warped, wobbled and off-centre, the pleasure you get from a 192 cd-rip is enormous. It's like clean windows, like a fog has lifted.
The step from that old 7'' to a good new mp3 is such a great leap itself, that going for flac adds nothing.
I thank you for your music, your time, and pardon me for not commenting more often.

    1. Yeah I would rather have a copy at 128 than no copy at all. There are many home made Reggae and Soul comps out there lifted from the vinyl and as John Peel once said "Somebody was trying to tell me that CDs are better than vinyl because they don’t have any surface noise. I said, ‘Listen, mate, life has surface noise." And what's the point having these in Flac or Wav. Hope to get back hunting for more of the Opus One label stuff next week, Richard take care

    2. You make a lot of sense. Because so much music is available online now, there is a danger that we just become collectors, chasing the 'best' quality rather than people who enjoy music. I personally hear little difference between mp3 @320 and Flac and all those 'higher quality' formats. If I have a 128 copy of something it's nice to get an upgrade to 320 but I'm not looking for more. I listen to a lot of UK Dance Band music from the 1930s which was recorded on very primitive equipment. Some music like early country, reggae, African or Dance Bands I can only find at 128 or even 96 but I'm still happy to listen to them because of the quality of the music.
