Am asking you if you comment here on Vibes to please either log into your google account or add the same name to all your comments. I have posted something in 320 today, but if you would like the Flac version, then you can request it. This offer is only open to people who I know or post comments with a google account or add the same name on all of their comments and comment on a regular basis.
I am seriously thinking about not publishing any comment that doesn't include a name or is not linked to a google account. But that might happen from the start of 2026, we will see. I don't see the problem with adding a name to your comment!
If you add your name to your comments and post regularly or use your google account to comment, you can also request albums you are missing from your collections (if I don't have a copy of your request, I will try and find you a copy), have upgrades in quality. You could ask for newer albums, that we won't share on the site, for the normal reasons, so many benefits to adding your name to your comment or google account. But it's your choice really.

Jackson Browne long displayed an aversion to hits collections, releasing his first one 25 years after his debut album. That 1997 disc, entitled Next Voice You Hear: The Best of Jackson Browne, had many hits, yet it was also missing many essential songs, leaving an opening for a collection that had all of Browne's hits and signature songs in one place. Released seven years later, Rhino/Elektra's double-disc The Very Best of Jackson Browne is more or less that collection. Produced by Jackson Browne and featuring 32 songs, this set has all the major songs -- "Doctor My Eyes," "These Days," "Late for the Sky," "The Pretender," "Fountain of Sorrow," "Redneck Friend," "Running on Empty," "Somebody's Baby" -- including songs missing on Next Voice You Hear, such as "Jamaica Say You Will," "Rock Me on the Water," "Take It Easy," "Before the Deluge," "The Load-Out," "Stay," and "Boulevard." However, there are a handful of smaller hits missing -- including "That Girl Could Sing," "Cut It Away," "For a Rocker," "For America," "Chasing You Into the Night," "World in Motion," and "Call It a Loan," the latter of which was on the previous compilation -- which may frustrate some listeners. Nevertheless, this is not a major problem since the collection does contain the great majority of Browne's best and best-known material in an attractive, engaging fashion (although the cardboard packaging may be a bit too flimsy to weather heavy, repeated listening), and for listeners who want a comprehensive overview without purchasing individual albums, this suits the bill nicely. Since parting ways with Public Image Ltd, Jah Wobble has released approximately 38 studio albums, plus countless collaborations and live albums. Yet, he is still able to come up with new ideas, sounds, and songs that not only surprise the listener but manage to have one foot firmly in the future and one in the past. Such is the case with his latest release, Dub Volume 1. The famed bassist and songwriter plays all the instruments and uses music to revisit his past and that of East London, which is where he grew up and spent his youth. Wobble, who was born John Joseph Wardle, looks at events that have happened over the years and lets his music explore the themes of the East End of London. All in dub form.
This is a solo project in the truest sense of the word. Not only does he play every instrument and write the songs, but he produced the album. Wobble dips into jazz and rock to explore the musical cultures of the diverse area and succeeds. The short but powerful “Tragic Slavic Dub” is a great example, as is “Old Jewish East End Of London Dub”, which has an absolutely brilliant ending. The opening song “Dub In The East” sets the stage for the rest of the album and shows Wobble incorporating all sorts of styles and sounds throughout the song. The song incorporates traditional Irish, Jewish, and other sounds which is really what he does with the songs on the album.
The vocals on “Lovers Rock Dub” are fun and brilliant. Using speed pitch, Wobble is having fun, and at the same time taking this listener on a trip to the past. This could have been a 12-in single, and while it is not retro, it does take one back to the glory days of dub singles by say Culture Club, which the song taps into. But every track has a tip of the hat to Wobble and the area’s history.
Wobble is an incredible musician and producer. Dub Volume 1 allows him to do what he does best. The music is well thought out and is played beautifully. All the songs lead comfortably into the next and the end result is a stunning, non-stop musical excursion all within the world of Dub. This is not an easy thing to do, but Wobble does, and it sounds like he does it with extreme ease. Dub Volume 1 is a brilliant album. (Spill Magazine)
