  2. New to me too Concha and I'll take a listen. I well remember the cha-cha and Latin dance craze of the late 1950s-early 1960s. There were lots of dancehalls back then and I knew many dance steps. We were taught dancing at school, and boxing. Both dancing and boxing were considered part of a young man's education.

    1. How lucky you are!
I was educated in a public school under Franco's dictatorship, and they didn't even offer music classes, so dance was out of the question!
Gymnastics, which was under the control of the "Sección Femenina," focused on activities that promoted an "ideal of womanhood" through calisthenics and dance. Here they called it "Swedish Gymnastics," but without music.
Enjoy the music and take the opportunity to review the dance steps 😉
      Thanks, Bob!!

    2. Very interesting Concha, I do enjoy these occasional exchanges with internet friends, we get to learn little things about each other.
