Vibes Is One Today (September 30th)

Vibes is one year old today, firstly I would like to thank the team here for all they have shared on Vibes, since we started. The music we share is very varied, we all have different tastes for sure!! But I think this makes Vibes a little bit different.

Thanks everyone that has visited the site over the last year, and more thanks to anyone who has taken the time to thank the uploader or added a comment to a post.

At present we are a team of five people, Andy, Concha, Cosmas, leeds (who at the moment is in a position where he's unable to post, but he'll be back) and myself Reb. If you would like to join the team then just drop me an email, 4vibessite(at)proton.me, just swap the (at) for @ . With a bit about yourself, if you comment here or know one of the team, all the better!! Please tell us if you know any of us and a little bit about your self and what music you like.

I would like to thank Jnr for letting us share Rob's Reggae Mix here on vibes, and we will maintain it as long as Vibes is here.

Starting from today we will be sharing a home made compilation compiled by Andy, Concha and me (Reb), each compilation contains 24 tracks, 8 from each of us in a block of 8 tracks together, with the three blocks assembled into the 24 track compilation. We hope you will enjoy them!! The first three will be shared today, then one every week on a Tuesday. This is an ongoing project!! We already have many compiled.

We are getting more downloads, more visits and comments every day, we have grown slowly, but are still growing!!

All we share here is real 320 or real Flac, if something is in a low bit rate, we will always tell the true bit rate on the post.

Holger Czukay - 1980 - Movies @320

Holger Czukay's first post-Can solo album finds the bass player exploring prog rock jams with varied instrumentation, song-oriented lyrics, and media samples from film, television, and short-wave. It was the samples that put Czukay in the same category as David Byrne and Brian Eno: an art rocker exploring the early days concurrently with early hip-hop pioneers (or alternately, a white man exploiting the culture of the third world, depending on who you read). On "Persian Love," Czukay backs up clips of an Iranian singer recorded off the short-wave with lilting guitar and keyboard riffs that sparkle like light. The album is all pleasant, playful textures, with little of the darkness that Can dallied with. (AllMusic)

Jack Johnson - 2023 - In Between Dub (Flac)

Jack Johnson, everyone's favourite pro-surfer-turned-indie folk powerhouse, reached out to Lee “Scratch" Perry in March 2020 asking him to produce a dub album based on Jack’s most loved recordings. After a year-long pause, caused by the Pandemic, Scratch began work on original music and mixes in his Jamaica studio, sending song sketches back to Johnson in Hawaii. Working between islands, the pair determined a direction for the album. However, Scratch sadly passed away later that year bringing the project to a halt. In 2022 Jack and Subatomic Sound System (Scratch’s band of the last decade) connected directly and finished the album. The album's complete tracklist reveals the involvement of dub titans Mad Professor, Scientist, Nightmares on Wax & Dennis Bovell. (Norman Records)
