Ted Hawkins - 1985 - Happy Hour

 Ted Hawkins - 1985 - Happy Hour @320

Ted Hawkins possesses one of the most compelling voices you'll ever hear -- his straight-from-the-heart delivery will grab your attention and never let go. His own songs, rooted in the firmament of American country music and rhythm and blues, are the record of a life of ups and downs. His sense of verbal play and his ability to tell stories with conviction make for a spellbinding listening experience. On his second Rounder album, Ted's voice and acoustic guitar are supported bya small band on three cuts, and by the electric blues guitar of Night Train Clemons on two others. (Amazon)

  1. Man, I love this album! Was lucky enough to see Ted when he played in the UK. Thanks for the share. I have it on CD, so won't grab it, but reminded me to listen to it again. Cheers

    1. Think I first heard his music on Brother Kershaw's show to be honest. It's a great album! Yeah sorry have at 320 already, but nice share.

  2. What a voice he had! And a talented songwriter. I haven't heard this since I used to borrow a friend's LP, so this is like reconnecting after many years with an old pal. Thank you!
