We are debating what is better for you the users of the site, with links, either we password protect them or make you ask via email or two comments one with your email address (which we won't share in the comments) and one asking or any other comment for get the links. Once we have your email address you will just need to post a comment on the post and we would sent you the link or links.
We are trying to get visitors to thank the sharers for their shares on the site.
It would be pointless making a general password, each post would need a unique password for passwords to work.
We think some people use feed readers to access our posts, well we might have to stop the RSS feed or change what is shared, so you have to visit the site and not take via the feed and don't leave a comment.
So feel free to add your comments on any of the above in the comments below.
A funny thing yesterday leeds made a post and was going to add the links later once he had uploaded them, and low and behold there was a comment, saying thanks but there aren't any links, strange you get comments when the links isn't there but nowt when it all there and working, well I am sorry but this needs to change, I would rather share with 10 people who each respect the uploader and say thanks, then many more, all of which say nothing unless, the links are there.
But each member of Vibes is free to choose how they share their links, if they want to password protect, just share the links or comments or email to receive the links.
The thing with this your going to have to wait for your music, well if you had all said thanks in the first place, then we wouldn't be in this boat. Links or passwords would be the same you would still have to wait, well all good thing's take time.
Let's see what happens next.
I use RSS feeds to see when new postings happen, so ideally for me you'll keep that feature, but whatever you need to do to make the site work best for you is fine by me.
ReplyDeleteI have set it to shortened text, then hopefully they can't access the download from the feed, but have to visit the site and if we stick with them in the comments and people have to request the links either via comments or email. There is already more activity on the comments the last couple of days. Am just trying it out, it can be returned to as it was, very easily.
Delete@Richard This blog won't be going private, in future only post a comments if you require the links. All other comments will go into the bin, like your last two.
ReplyDeleteWell Richard (Richie) what you posted elsewhere at least the first volume is 320 the other two are just low bitrate, all you had to do was ask and you could have had them all in 320. I can't stop you sharing what you got from here, but don't ask for links here again, I know where you posted them a site I visit everyday and have for over 15 years.
